I would like to suggest two enhancements to Phorest’s membership functionality that I believe would provide salons with greater flexibility while improving the client membership experience.
  1. Credit Memberships – Allow Clients to Save/Rollover Credits
It would be beneficial to give clients enrolled in a credit-based membership the option to either use their monthly credit or save it for a future service.
Currently, clients are required to use their available credit, which can limit how they are able to take advantage of their membership. Allowing credits to accumulate would give clients more flexibility and allow them to save toward a larger or higher-value service.
Ideally, Phorest could allow salons to determine whether credits can roll over and, if desired, establish parameters such as an expiration period or maximum number of credits that can be accumulated.
This would give salons more control over how they structure their memberships while making the membership benefit more valuable and flexible for clients.
  1. Service Memberships – Allow Clients to Select Their Complimentary Add-On
For service-based memberships that include one complimentary add-on per month, it would be helpful if Phorest allowed the client to choose which eligible add-on they would like to receive each month.
Rather than assigning one specific add-on to the membership, the salon could create a list of eligible add-ons and allow the client to select one each month.
For example, eligible add-ons could include:
Conditioning treatment
Scalp treatment
Blowout upgrade
Iron work
Beard trim
Waxing
The salon would be able to determine which services qualify for the membership benefit, while the client could select their preferred add-on when booking their appointment or during checkout.
This could potentially be incorporated directly into the online booking experience, so the client could see their available membership benefit and choose the add-on they would like to use.
Both of these enhancements would make Phorest memberships more customizable and client-focused. They would allow salons to create more appealing membership programs without having to build separate memberships for every possible client preference.
Giving clients more control over how they use their membership benefits could also increase the perceived value of the membership, client satisfaction, retention, and long-term membership participation.
I believe these features would be especially valuable for salons that are looking to create flexible membership programs tailored to different client needs while still maintaining clear rules and controls within Phorest.
