I know many of us have requested that deposit links be made a feature. (I can’t wait for this feature to be made) we desperately need it… but I just want to add my 2 cents on this subject:
One of the issues I have with the current deposit set up is how the deposits are attached to individual appointments. I believe that this does work for some salons and should remain as an option however in our salon we would like to be able to choose the way in which we collect our deposits? Whether online or with the new deposit link.
The current way to take a deposit manually through the purchase screen is a work around but is not seamless.
In our salon we would prefer if deposits collected could be placed against the clients card/name or “account” instead of against every individual appointment?
The reason for this is because it’s much easier to take a “one time deposit” that remains against the clients name (not the appointment) because this means we can rebook and reuse that same deposit. It doesn’t go anywhere it just lives on their account and it stays there in the case of the client rebooking.
If they choose to redeem the deposit the client understands that they will then need to pay new deposit in future either in salon or online. (We previously had client diary) and we would ask the client if they want to rebook (keep the deposit) but if they preferred to book online again (we would redeem the deposit)
Phorest could take this one step further - deposits could be attached to appointments OR the client account. This could be done either in the back for our settings or even an option on deposits to “move to client account” when this is done a record should be shown: The deposit amount/ the service it was booked for and the date and whether or not the deposit is active or has been redeemed or voided in case of no shows/ cancelations and how it was made - online or in salon with staff names and ect
There also needs to be a report on client deposits to track and trace who’s pid want and who voided deposits ect so that we can confidently say to our clients what has happened to there $$
Deposits links should also be set to expire if not paid within a certain period and the appointment should automatically change colour in the calendar and we will either call/message the client or delete the appointment? However this all need to be logged somewhere to we can track and trace the movement of appointments and the deposits.
Please vote for this if you believe that the new deposit links will be useless if not set up correctly?
