For online booking it would be amazing if we can set a stop time of when certain services can be booked. For example we close at 5pm, although we do not mind taking one last haircut at 5pm we do not want to allow color services or any other time consuming service to be booked any later than 4pm.

We have Stylists that work different shifts. What we were told by Phorest was that Phorest looks at the Salon's closing time, not the end time of a particular Stylist and allows clients to book a color at the end of their shift without allowing for processing time as we have added into the color service. It would be great if it looked at each Stylist's schedule and not the Salon's hours.

Hi Lori! This was a huge problem for us when we switched to Phorest since it doesnt consider processing time at the end of the day or shift. To mitigate this issue we created a separate service SKU called "Color Finish, No Blowdry", for 15 minutes (you can set the time for whatever granularity your Salon uses at the minimum). We added this option to our finishing services (haircut, blowdry), and they're required to choose a finishing service. If they want to leave wet and without a true finishing service they can book this 15min SKU which is added at the end of the processing time. This prevents Guests from being able to book at the end of the day... that 15min appt allows for time to rinse out the color and maybe do a toner if needed. The downside is that you now have 15 minutes wasted where a shampoo tech or assistant could be rinsing out the color and tending to the Guest... so we just delete the "Color Finish, No Blowdry" SKU when we see them and put a note in the appt like, "No finish" to let everyone know this Guest doesnt want a HC or BD.
All that being said we just had a situation where a Guest was able to go online and move their appt around AFTER we removed this 15min SKU (or this can happen if you book in-salon and simply don't include a finishing service like a HC or BD). Anyhow, the Guest moved their color appt to the end of the day an hour before it was schedule to start and there was nothing we could really do about it.
I agree that It'd be nice to avoid having to do all this if Phorest were able to consider the processing time as part of the service without preventing Stylists from seeing other Guests during that processing time. Hope I explained this well enough... happy to share my email/phone and walk you through how we did this.

Phorest Product:Thanks, Sonja! I'm aware of this feature; however, the issue we ran into with this is that it doesnt work unless all the providers' shifts end at "closing time". So for example, if I have a Stylist who finishes their shift at 4pm but we don't close until 7pm the feature you're referring to will allow a Guests' processing time to run over into the Stylists' time off.
