More Control Over Add-On Bookings

We need more control over which providers can perform add-ons and how add-ons that require extra time are booked.
- Provider qualifications for zero-minute add-ons
An add-on that doesn’t require extra time still needs to be limited to providers who are qualified to perform it.
For example, we offer Gua Sha as a massage add-on. It doesn’t add time to the appointment, but the therapist must be certified to perform it. Offering Swedish Massage shouldn’t automatically make someone available for Gua Sha.
What makes this even more frustrating is that we could assign qualifications by provider for the first few weeks after the add-on feature launched this spring. Then that changed without any warning. We’d like that option back.
- Add-ons that need extra time should stay with the same provider and room
Adding Dermaplaning to a facial adds 30 minutes to the appointment. Right now, the system books the Dermaplaning portion with another provider in a different treatment room, even though it’s performed by the same therapist as part of the facial.
The add-on should simply extend the facial appointment by 30 minutes. It should only be available if that therapist is qualified and both the therapist and the original room are available for the full appointment.
These are controls we need across salon, spa, and medspa services so clients can book add-ons correctly without us having to fix the appointments afterward.
