Cannot track campaign success

Hi all, Clarins have been in touch with the following request, @Mikey has kindly advised on a workaround they can try, which i have shared with them and advised i will pass on the request further. Thanks
''We’ve been investigating the upcoming campaign driving to the Clarins booking platform and tracking customer user journeys. One of the requests to make the tracking work efficiently is by having a redirect from the Phorest booking confirmation page back to Clarins landing page. This will allow us to map the sessions which have been successful. May we ask if this is possible to do on your side?''

I know of another salons who requested to being able to specify a landing page after a successful booking. Sonja
I don't know if that solves the problem. The issue is, that they cannot track the success of campaigns.

The rejection of the cookies does not allow the Google tracking analytics to pull out the right data. Ticket related to this: https://phorest.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/304583

It´s very important to Salons who are running online campaigns, to be able to measure the success of their online marketing campaigns by tracking which campaigns clients are booking from. Currently they are blind as to what is working and what not.
Sonja Lorscheidt
Leave it with me. It's a bigger piece but it has to be sorted.
Sonja Lorscheidt
OK, I read the full Zendesk ticket.
The one issue is that the salon is not happy that we have another Cookie consent banner additional to theirs.
We will investigate whether there is a solution to this.
The other is that users can opt out of tracking and the salons looses data on how ads are working. This is a general problem which we'll investigate as well.

Isn't that why the reject Cookies?

It'll be added for the backlog for future consideration. We got to do work on this for sure.

Yep, salons and their marketing partners seem to have a lot of issues trying to track the success of their campaigns with our online bookings. From the support side, it is really difficult to try to help them with this, so a better url structure / thank you page or whatever is needed to make this more straightforward for salons would be very welcome.
Also, we offer cross domain tracking with Google Analytics but this might be affected by upcoming end of life for Universal Google Analytics might also affect this?

I could be misunderstanding what the client is asking for but surely we cannot legally track someone in the EU when they decline cookies?

Seán O'Sullivan: We do have issues with tracking if the client does not accept the cookies. I think that Lauren or Mikey Cannon would be the best to answer this.

There is detail in that article on how to setup conversion tracking with GTM and push that data, value of appointments etc into google analytics.
All of this may rely on the acceptance of cookies by users of OB. If they do not accept then some info may not be tracked.
It is a solution that someone quite technical could achieve but it's not a solid long term answer to their issue.
If OB was able to redirect to a thank you page of the clients choosing then they could create a landing page for their website to drive ad traffic to and then measure the success of that traffic by how many make it to the thank you page. They will not however be able to determine the value of those bookings, just that a booking occurred.
Check out this area of that article that sean posted for the detail on how to setup tracking of bookings and their value.
