Marketing Personalization Clarity

When composing a message (SMS or email) the marketing personalization isn't specific. I.E: if you select 'staff first name' they assume you mean preferred staff. This is not the case, as it selects your most recent staff visit, which can lead to confusion.

This has been fixed and released to customers. More info on how it now works here https://app.tettra.co/teams/phorest/pages/marketing-suite-bug-fixes-2021#header-6mq62-staff-first-name-macro-in-campaign-editors-working-very-strangely

From Shane Caplice:
When sending an SMS campaign, the staff first name button will pull the most recent staff member the client was with. However if this staff member is archived, the staff name will be replaced with the
branch name
. This can lead to some bad grammatical errors as shown in the example below.I believe this is by design when a staff member is archived -is this correct?I can see there has been a bug raised around the first and last name being pulled and considerations being made about changing how it pulls clients names. Just an opinion but should we reconsider the fact that we pull the branch name in the event of an archived staff member?
Also,if this is by design, should it be pulling from closed accounts? as in the screenshot below, endeavor hills has been closed for a long time.

Michael Rubin do you know what salons would like this macro to be? The preferred staff on the client card, or last visited staff or something else?

aisling.scolard: From my experience, preferred staff. The only thing I worry about with that is the shortlist of clients who have just 1 or 2 appointments who don't have one yet. Ideally, it would be "preferred staff, if applicable, and if not, most recent staff member seen." This would cover all of the bases, I think.
Seán O'Sullivan
There'd be some conflict with using preferred staff as there's a good amount of salons that would have preferred staff auto-assign setting turned on and not manually update this. Perhaps the filter wording needs updating rather than changing it's function?
