Marketing Filter - 'OR'
M
Mary-Louise O'Connor
Problem:
Salons want to target groups of clients who have done something OR something. For example, target clients who had waxing or nails or a massage. Therapists might be quiet for these particular services so it's a handy way to target services that are 'quiet'.
Impact on the customer - how are they solving it today?
They either don't bother, use the old editor or use a third party tool.
Impact on the customer - why is this painful?
The old editor isn't as user friendly as the new one, doesn't have the functionality of the new one, and will be retired.
Impact on the customer - how often do they have to do this?
At least once a month.
What impact might it have on Phorest - how many customers are likely to have this problem? Just one? Only a particular type of customer?
All types of clients who use Marketing campaigns in a targeted way.
How much of an impact will it have on Phorest metrics?
It should increase revenue earned through adoption of Marketing

Original request for history:
In the old email editor, it was possible to filter with 'OR' and not just the 'AND' filter. e.g. an appointment was cancelled OR had a no show. Some clients still revert back to the old editor since this is not available in the new one.

I can strongly support this request. Heard it many times in the DACH region. It simply makes so much sense to filter with OR because it widens the recipient group and makes it simpler to filter.

Hey aisling.scolard I have a few of both.
So Salons reopening wanting to prioritize clients who had a no show (appointments left in the system) OR clients who cancelled to send them the VIP and save sending 2 emails.
Also get it a good bit for promotions, some of their categories are similar but not listed the same e.g lash extensions are separate to their eye category so if doing a promotion on lash extensions wanting to send it to the lash category but also the eye treatments because the would be most likely to be upsold to. It isn't as essential with the email side of things more around sms sends, people being conscious of cost and want to target the best suited people. So I would say it's something that would help our sms revenue

Hi Mary-Louise O'Connor (and anyone else who voted) just a couple of questions on this one...
Do you have any other examples of why salons need the 'OR' filter?
Is it just to contact people about upcoming/previous appointments or is it also for promotions or anything like that? What's the goal behind using this - is it operational to contact clients about their appointments or is it create additional revenue streams, or both?

aisling.scolard: Hey, spoke about this today - the example I got was a salon owner wants to send a campaign to customers who have bought service x or service y. As they can't choose or, they need to decide if they want to target just one of those groups or just send to the whole database.
We understood that these filters were not used so much in the old editor, but maybe that was because they were hard to understand.
By the way how many votes do we get Russell Cooper?

Colm O'Neill: I don't think there's a limit but bear in mind that if you vote for everything you might as well vote for nothing! :)

aisling.scolard: Hey Aisling, apart from the lockdown filters for no-shows/cancellations, other examples include:
- Products: clients to use the old editor if they want to send a campaign to clients who have bought certain branded products e.g. Elemis OR L'Oreal. It'd be a very useful way for clients to promote the online store, for example, clients who have purchased certain brands and not just target one product/brand.
- Services: targeting multiple services e.g. had waxing or nails or a massage. Therapists might be quiet for these particular services so it's a handy way to target services that are 'quiet'.
- Targeting top clients e.g. has had 5+ visits or has spent +£500
