One of the worst ways to wake up in the morning: you get a text from one of your staff saying they’re sick.
Still half-asleep, you grab your phone and close their schedule for the day using the Phorest Go app. Later, the stylist updates you—they’ll be out for the entire week.
Next task: closing their schedule for the rest of the week.
Now comes the tedious part: re-scheduling every single appointment. To make matters worse, not all clients can be reached before the automatic SMS appointment reminders go out at 12 noon. This causes confusion and frustration for everyone involved.
Would it be possible to add these two features to Phorest?
• Disable appointment confirmations for staff marked as “sick” to prevent unnecessary reminders from being sent to clients.
• Automatically send an SMS or email to clients booked during the affected period with a message like:
“Unfortunately, [staff name] is unwell, and your appointment scheduled for [date/time] will need to be rescheduled. We’ll contact you shortly to arrange a new time.”
These features would save so much time, reduce stress, and improve client communication. The struggle is real, and a solution like this would truly be a game-changer!
